The Goldbergvariations

The Goldberg Variations is not only that masterpiece by Johan Sebastian Bach, but also the name of Steve Paxton's iconic dance solo. Oskar Stalpaert, a dancer with Platform-K, a company in Ghent for dancers with a disability, Michiel Vandevelde and Audrey Merilus will work with this material and take a close look at forty years of dance practice. Where is dance today? How open, democratic and accessible is dance today? Which body images do we prefer, and which would we rather not see? Philippe Thuriot arranged the variations for accordion and finds a perfect balance between Bach's music and his own musical language.
